I recently questioned these family members and there was no conversation, no attempt at understanding, they simply abandoned me.

I grew up being emotionally abused by various family members (I now know these people are narcissists carrying on this cycle of abuse). Anyway, I was taught to do for others, and only then did I have value as a human being.
